The Waterfront Development is situated adjacent to the Emerald Bay Resort. Officially opened in winter 2004, The Emerald Bay Resort offers a series of suites and beachfront properties. Emerald Bay is also home to the Four Seasons Resort and Spa. Here are the reviews quoted from Fodor and Frommer......
"The luxurious Four Seasons is the only full-service resort on Great Exuma Island. When it opened in 2003, it changed the island's guesthouse demeanor, causing an upswing in the upscale. The 470 acres of pristine grounds lie adjacent to a mile-long strip of beach. There's an elaborate spa with two-person treatment rooms for couples, as well as watersports, tennis courts, the island's only golf course, and a children's area with its own pool; a casino opened in 2006. Guests stay in lemon yellow Colonial-style villas clustered on landscaped grounds. Rooms are decorated in rich, dark woods and rattan offset by pastel walls and sunny artwork. Each room has its own patio or balcony facing the bay. The emphasis is on service, with custom-stocked bars in each room and a 24-hour beach butler. The resort's three restaurants have Bahamian and continental dishes, heavy on the seafood. The signature restaurant, Il Cielo, looks out toward the sea through gaping windows and serves fine pastas, risottos, and seafood. The newest restaurant, Ting'm, sits outdoors at the edge of one of Exuma's most gorgeous beaches." -Fodor's Review
"The quiet Exumas emerged from a sleep of centuries with the official opening of this resort in the winter of 2004. Its sweeping ocean vistas and tropical beauty frame an experience unique in this part of the world; the Out Islands have seen nothing like this in their history, and the resort is expected to change the entire character of the archipelago.
All accommodations here open onto private terraces and balconies with scenic views of the bay. You're given a choice of rooms, from generously proportioned gardenview units to oceanview rooms opening directly onto the bay. For the big spender, the resort also offers a series of executive suites and beachfront properties of one and two bedrooms.
So much goes on at this resort that you may never get around to exploring the surrounding islands. The most spectacular feature is a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman. The full-service spa and health club is the finest in The Bahamas, and you can swim at either the hotel's crescent-shaped white-sand beach or in one of two pools. Currently, the best marina in the Southern Bahamas is being reconstructed here. And the cuisine is among the best in the Out Islands, with both indoor and outdoor dining options and a selection of Italian, Caribbean, Bahamian, and international dishes." - Frommer's review
